Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) After-Pregnancy Coverage
People who have been pregnant can get After-Pregnancy Coverage through Apple Health. This health insurance coverage is available in the 12 months after pregnancy ends. If you report your pregnancy before it ends, After-Pregnancy Coverage starts when your pregnancy ends.
Pregnancy and special enrollment
Special enrollment periods
Some life events let you sign up for a health plan outside of open enrollment. This is called a special enrollment period. You have 60 days from the event to apply for a special enrollment period.
Life events and reporting a change
Being pregnant changes a lot about your life. Many of these changes can qualify you for a new plan or savings.
For some, being pregnant affects their work and income. Maybe you take time off or work different hours, affecting the amount you make. If this happens, report this change in your Washington Healthplanfinder™ account. Changes of income often count as a qualifying life event, and they can also make you eligible for more savings.
Changes to the size of your household can also affect your eligibility. Did you have a baby? Move in with a partner? Let us know! These changes may qualify you for a better plan or more savings.
