All plans offered through Washington Healthplanfinder meet strict benefit and quality standards. Essential services are covered like visits to the doctor and emergency room, prescriptions, maternity care, preventive care, and more. If an accident or illness happens, quality coverage can help protect you from huge medical bills. No one will be denied coverage because they are sick or have a pre-existing condition.
Who Can Sign Up?
Help Paying for Coverage
Most individuals and families who enroll through Washington Healthplanfinder receive financial help to pay for their coverage. Depending on how much you earn, you could qualify for a free or low-cost health plan or be eligible for financial help that can lower the cost of your premiums and co-pays. Free or low-cost health coverage options are provided through Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) or Qualified Health Plans with tax credits.
When New Customers Can Enroll
A new customer can sign up for a Qualified Health and Dental Plan during open enrollment. The open enrollment period starts Nov. 1, 2018. Select a plan by Dec. 15 to make sure your coverage is active by Jan. 1, 2019. Open Enrollment ends Dec. 15, 2018.
If you have a qualifying life event, you may be eligible to sign up during a special enrollment period. This means you can enroll in a new plan or change your current plan outside the open enrollment period. Some of these life events include getting married, having or adopting a baby, or losing other coverage.
Small Business Health Coverage
Beginning in 2018, small business health coverage will no longer be available through Washington Healthplanfinder due to no health insurance company offering. While no future small business plans are being offered, existing Washington Healthplanfinder coverage can still be accessed and updated. For questions or support with the changes to Washington Healthplanfinder Business, contact [email protected].
Business owners know the value of health insurance, and good benefits can help recruit and retain employees. Therefore, any business with 1-50 employees can buy health insurance in the small employer market. You can buy directly from an insurance company or from an insurance agent or broker.
If you are an employee, you may qualify for a new type of employee benefit called a “qualified small employer health reimbursement arrangement” (QSEHRA).
